Our Story
Most homes are lit for the wrong hour. The bright overhead light that makes sense at eight in the morning is still the only thing switched on at nine at night, and the room never quite lets anyone settle.
Halowick exists for the other hour — the one after the sun goes, when a room should get smaller and warmer rather than brighter. Halo for the ring of light a lamp throws on a wall. Wick for the smallest flame there is. Everything we sell belongs to one of those two.
What we look for
One question decides it: does it give good light after dark? Not how it photographs on a white background, not how many are in the box. A lamp is judged switched on. A holder is judged with a flame in it. If a piece only looks good unlit, it does not belong here.
How the shop is arranged

- Candlelight — wax, wick, and the glass that keeps a flame steady.
- Strung Light — warm strings for a ceiling, a window, a doorway left open.
- Light, Doubled — mirrors, the cheapest way to have twice as much lamplight in a room.
Every week we put eight pieces on the shelf under First Light. Those are chosen by hand, not sorted by what sold most.
